The idea involved the creation of a living museum space, based on Hippocrates’ knowledge of plants and herbs. A garden that can support guest education and the promotion of the company’s sustainability strategic goals. Guests are be able to study plants/herbs that can be used in personal care materials, cooking recipes, wellness and health products, through experiential programs and games.
The design aims at creating a narrative approach that follows the tripartite logic of ancient works (prologue, episode, exit):
-The prologue is located spatially south of the archaeological site with a separate entrance from the main streets of the complex.
-The episodes consist of designed areas supporting storytelling, with qualities such as the labyrinth and the voyage. The design of these areas will entice guests to participate in entertainment and educational experiences.
-The exodus takes place in multiple places (different meanings in different spaces) according to each narrative.
The site area is defined by the archaeological space, the main street network and the hotel rooms situated at the eastern part of the site, where a buffer zone is created for privacy.
Divided into four sections, the design of the different routes follows Hippocrates’ listed plants and herbs categorized by their positive effect on people:
Detoxification, skin care and arthritic therapy
Gastrointestinal system and relaxation
Revitalization and gynaecological
Respiratory and immune systems
